Baby birds

We had a surprise this spring with a nest under our deck one day. The mother bird, red beak, was sitting on the nest. One day I climbed a ladder and I looked in the nest. There were three birds just cheeping and cheeping. The nest day I found two egg shells on the ground. The other shell got blown away in the wind. The babies, Long beak, Short beak, and Crooked beak, grew and grew. One day I was watering the flowers and they jumped out the nest a flew away. Apparently trying to catch three babies with gloves isn't accurate. It all started with an egg shell...

And then birds being born...

And next thing we know they are old enough to hop out of their nest and fly away. Sad day.
